David K.: Hey Guys. Anyone familiar with Facebook’s policies for FAN PAGES? Not too long ago a Digs visitor launched a fan page on Facebook for Lurid Digs. I thought it was cool, was honored actually and a tad misty eyed — but didn’t think too much about afterwards.
Later I saw guys were really getting into it, so then I considered it a good way for us to get to know each other and do all the stuff people do on Facebook (waste time, trawl former boyfriend’s pages, shit like that.) Well, it seems the fan page was ‘removed.’ So I suppose this has something to do with the dreaded bane of society (and social networks): nudity!! I don’t know, I’m 95-years-old with encroaching dementia and a novice to all of this shit. So can someone let me know what the right procedure is. And if you’re the kind of person that would like to help me administer a page like that (cause I guess I’ve got to go back and try to set up a new one, please email me and state your case).
Which brings me to another topic, and you guys can leave comments on this (or the Facebook issue) if you like, below. Should Lurid Digs be on Twatter, I mean Twitter? Pros and cons. Yes or no? Demi or Ashton?
Thanks boys, you’re the best.
Yours in sad taste,
DK
Steve: All this popularity and yet we have so few friends, it seems! What gives? If you own a blog or a site that’s off-balance and gloriously strange enough to run side-by-side with ours, think about submitting it for inclusion in our Blogroll. We like sites that are funny/gorgeous/dumb, and updated a lot. Email me and include a link to your site, please know that we are choosy bitches.
File Under:For the hell of it
Facebook: I think anyone can mark you as ‘offensive’ to them, i have the feeling that it might be futile to try again as you’ll keep getting removed.
Twitter: sucks

Twitter is the shitter!!! Keep your amazing website and rock it old school until it’s cool again.
Twitter is nothing but a PR tool for celebrities. Keep the site.
I was finally coaxed onto Facebook, where I am a proud fan of Lurid Digs. But as to Twitter: no, no, a thousand times NO! It seems to me to be a worthless waste of time. Whereas Lurid Digs is a glorious waste of time. Please don’t sully my pleasure in this site by going all Twittish on us. You can’t spell “Twitter” without “Twit”.
Thanks for the feedback guys. I appreciate it. I’ll probably set up the Facebook thing again, so everyone who wants to can meet and greet there and I can update ya’ll on site happenings (home decorating contests and shit like that).
Twitter, unfortunately has become a looming issue for anyone who runs a website because of the way Google is beginning to link to Twitter posts – thus making it critical in the way people find your site. I know it sounds idiotic, and I’m not a fan of the service myself, but we’ll probably implement it and let folks who ARE into it benefit from the updates. And we’ll benefit from better placement with Google.

I was finally coaxed onto Myspace by friends who were tired of all the spam and virus problems on Facebook. Go all the way David and add Myspace too.
I saw the Facebook group but didn’t join because I figured they’d clamp down because of the nudity. But if y’all bring it back I’ll be there. It’ll be fun connecting with some of you folks.
And I do have a blog, but it’s book reviews and the like, nothing sufficiently lurid.
I think Buddy switched facebook with myspace… Myspace is the one full of spam and viruses.
Yeah, I can’t believe something as lame as Twitter caught on [even the NAME is stupid!] but now that it’s played such a pivotal role in the Iranian Rebellion (?!) it looks as though we’re never going to hear the end of it.
I was unaware of the LD Facebook page but it sounds like fun. Seems like every other day now I get urged by one friend or another to set up a Facebook account. A Lurid Digs presence could be my personal tipping point.
Where did he get it?
I effin LURV you guys!
I’m the admin for the Butt magazine group on facebook, and Im sure the peeps in our group will find you guys awesome. I’m gonna do a posting on our group to spread the word.
Let me know if you guys get on facebook, and I’ll link. I’m pretty low-tech and lazy, I dont blog, but our group has quite the demographic, so it might add a few followers.
